“Gardens Network,” Registration Materials, and Resources Info Available on Website

Some exciting community garden registration materials and information about other resources are being released on DaneCountyCommunityGardens.org today!

2015 Garden Registration Materials:
Community Garden Registration Form template has been uploaded and is available with other resources under the “Resources- For Garden Leaders” menu tab. In addition to the registration form, a demographics form and updated plot fee chart have also been provided to assist garden leaders. To help answer the demographics form question about gardeners living within a half-mile of the garden, 0.5 mile radius maps have been created and uploaded for garden leader use. Receiving anonymous, completed demographics forms from each community garden will be critical in funder reporting for the new Gardens Network- please make every effort to collect and return these completed forms, leaders!

Community Garden Materials and Services List:
Also to help support garden leaders as the growing season approaches, we have complied a list of Community Garden Materials and Services contacts. This list includes contact information for entities that provide hay or straw, lake weeds, tilling services, and City of Madison woodchips and leaf mulch. *Please note that the independent contractors listed have not been vetted or verified by the Gardens Network, though many have been successfully utilized by individual gardens in the past.

Upcoming Community Garden Summit Focuses on Leadership:
It isn’t too late to register for the February 28th Community Garden Summit. The 2015 Summit will be a great opportunity to connect and learn with other community garden leaders, develop leadership and garden management skills, and learn more about the new Gardens Network that will support community gardens; a partnership between Community GroundWorks, Dane County UW Extension, and the City of Madison. This event is free of charge, with breakfast refreshments and lunch provided.
